Boston Calling Lineup Announcement
Today the lineup was announced for this year’s Boston Calling Festival to be held over Memorial Day weekend, May 23–25th. Acts include Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Jack Johnson, Jenny Lewis, Brand New, Tegan & Sara, Frank Turner and a bunch more over the 3 day set of shows.
Some people are getting sick of the festival thing with them adding new ones throughout the country every year but for someone who doesn’t have the money for airfare and hotel to travel to California, Texas, Tennessee, etc being able to see that many bands in one weekend by jumping on a train instead is just fan freaking tastic.
Last May’s event included Fun, The National, Of Monsters and Men, Young the Giant, and The Shins, among others. But it didn’t really matter, because any excuse to go outside and day drink to live music is a worthy cause. It was so much fun they did it again in September with 2 days of Vampire Weekend, Kendrick Lamar, Gaslight Anthem, Airborne Toxic Event, Local Natives, and Passion Pit.
Tickets are reasonably affordable at $150 for the 3 day pass. They go on sale Friday 1/31. Who’s coming with?
