AdBlock Browser Now Available On Android And iOS
Tired of annoying and overly obtrusive ads wrecking your internet browsing experience on mobile devices? Well, good news! The makers of the most popular browser extension AdBlock Plus have now released a full browser of their own for both Android and iOS that allows you to not only block all ads, but also disable the tracking tactics used by many large companies to see everything you click on while browsing online to serve targeted ads among other things. With over 400 million downloads of their browser extension for desktop computers it was only a matter of time before they released the same tools for the devices we carry around every day. While it has been possible to install adblockers on mobile devices for some time, only now have they made it so simple. In the past it required the end user to root their phone or perform other software modifications that most people just aren’t interested in or capable of performing.
The benefits of removing these unwanted ads are numerous, especially considering most people no longer have an unlimited data plan these days. By not loading ads your bandwidth usage is reduced significantly, your battery will last longer, and the pages you visit will load much faster. There really is no down side, unless of course you are an advertiser trying to bank on those ads being clicked.
But it is not all doom and gloom for those poor poor advertisers being hit with yet another means for users to rid themselves of the multitude of crap being slung at them. Like the desktop version of their software users can “whitelist” or unblock ads from websites of their choice so they are still able to see them. Why would someone do that you might ask? Well most websites make the money that keeps them in business off those ads. That includes this site. So if you want to make sure people are getting paid for the articles you’re reading you can simply add their site to your whitelist with just a few clicks.
