Soundset: The Paint Wall, a Trike, and a Car

One of my favorite things about the Soundset festival is the diversity in things there are to do and watch. While it is of course primarily a music festival, there is also things like a half pipe or the paint wall. The reason I like this so much is it is something you can watch progress all through the day as you are walking around. From the time I first walked by the painters to watch DJ QBert in the neighboring tent until the time I last walked by after Wiz Khalifa finished his set there had been a complete transformation. What started as what looked like scribbles on the wall were now fully completed works of art the artists were proud to stand next to.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the progression I saw in just a few hours, let alone the entire day they were left there to work. These guys have crazy talent and it is hard to believe they could paint something so big in a single day. The coolest part was even though there were several artists working on their own pieces on the wall at the same time, they all flowed together at the end like they were supposed to be that way. It is exactly exhibits like this that set this festival apart from others. Here is some of the finished work I caught.

Unfortunately due to a corrupted folder on the SD card of my camera, I lost pretty much all the pictures I had of the cars at the car show as well as the half pipe. Somehow I accidentally saved the two below in a different folder that survived unscathed. So at least there is that!
