WSJ gets rumors of iPhone 6 with bigger screen swirling again

It seems like as soon as a new iPhone comes out within weeks there are already rumors going around about the next one that will be released the following year. As we all know, rumors of an iPhone with a bigger screen are nothing new. Those started at least a year if not two before the company actually made their first half inch screen bump to a bigger but still relatively small in today’s market 4 inch size. So Apple is going to have to try to play catch up with its rivals that are producing handsets in every size from 4 inches all the way up to the enormous 6.8 inch Hisense X1. According to a post published by the Wall Street Journal, that is exactly what they intend to do with the iPhone 6.

In that report they say there will again be two different phones unveiled together like they did for the first time last year with the iPhone 5S and 5C, however this time it is said one will sport a 4.5 inch display and the other will have one larger than 5 inches. It was also said that both models would be made out of the same materials which renders the “unapologetically plastic” housing found on the iPhone 5C obsolete. Considering the vast number of articles published regarding poor sales performance from the plastic model since its release, this comes as little surprise. They didn’t mention any specifics we can expect to see inside the phone unfortunately, but it is safe to assume it will just be the average spec bump we have come to expect from the company every year. But regardless the source of this info, we won’t know anything for sure until Apple does its own press release when they launch their new wares, which isn’t expected until the second quarter of 2014.
