The Suitcase Junket | Make Time
The Suitcase Junket is a slide guitar playing, Peruvian throat singing one man band consisting of Matt Lorenz and variety of homemade contraptions… you’re not going to find anything quite like it to say the least. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Lorenz’s music ever since I heard his first album Sever and Lift and then realized that he was playing everything simultaneously. Had it been a full band I would have still been quite impressed, the fact that it was one man is frankly astounding.
I’m not really sure how to describe what The Suitcase Junket sounds like. He’s got a folksy/delta vibe with throat singing thrown into the mix. Matt Lorenz may very well be some sort of a Hindu got because it sounds like he has 8 arms. Make Time has everything I loved about his first two albums and more. It’s a great listen start to finish but you should just go ahead and listen to it yourself.
