The Districts | Telephone
I’ve been digging The Districts since I saw them open for Dr. Dog a few weeks back and as I mentioned before I was pretty blow away by their performance. These dudes are young but they don’t play like it. They’ve got a great folk rock sound that combines clever, catchy lyrics with sweet and sometimes roaring guitars.
I picked up Telephone the day after I saw them play and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. It’s a little lo-fi but I’m into that and it suites the songs. You can hear true honesty in there, not only in the lyrics but in the overall performance of the songs themselves. The album feels almost like you’re hanging out in a garage, tipping back a few beers listing to the band practice.
Keep an eye out for these guys because they’re on their way up. They drop their second album in a few weeks here and I’m looking forward to it. For the time being here are some tracks from Telephone to hold you over.
The Tracks:
The Drink:
A cold beer, preferably from Philly.

Just listened to the new album. So far I’m liking the previous stuff better. You listen yet?
I actually saw them last night, but I haven’t listened to the new album yet. However from what they played off it I’d have to agree with you.
