PushBullet mirrors all mobile notifications to your desktop
When I am working on my computer I want minimize distraction as much as possible. If I hear my phone go off I don’t want to have to pull it out of my pocket to see if it was something I need to respond to immediately every time it makes a sound. To that end a few developers put together an app that completely solves this problem for me. Called PushBullet, this app shows all the notifications that come to my phone or tablet on my computer. It allows for you to choose which apps on your phone that it mirrors also so you are not getting constant notifications to things you don’t necessarily care about. I have mine set to show me texts, emails, incoming calls, calendar events, alarm clock, and all my social media accounts.
So if I get a text message it will pop up on my computer screen telling me who the sender was and what the message said. Unfortunately the only downside at this point is you are unable to respond to notifications through it, so I would still need to take out my phone and respond to the text message.
Aside just showing me notifications it makes sending files, links, and other things between devices and people a snap. It also allows to send from the computer to the phone too. Here is a short video made by the people who created the app showing us how it works and what it can all do.
