Husky Bundles is a band from Philly fronted by a man in a fighter pilots helmet (see fig. 1). I don’t know if he pilots a fighter or not… but I do know that these guys rock hard enough to make Pete “Maverick” Mitchell shit his pants. They’re a little punk, a little psych, a little garage rock and loud as fuck.
Recorded in 2 days at Philly’s Miner Street studios, bebé bebé is a hell of a good record. It’s got a lot of different things going on and I’ve found myself really enjoying the arrangements. They tend to be a little unusual and not quite what you going in… a little reminiscent of earlier modest mouse but really fucking heavy.
Bebé Bebé is one of the best records to come out of Philly in a little while. I’ve had it on heavy rotation for the past few weeks which is more than I can say for pretty much any other new record I’ve picked up lately. So do yourself a favor and check it out.
